CGIC Investigators apprehend suspect who pointed a firearm at Citizens and Police in Downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS-Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department  (IMPD) Detectives and Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) Investigators received information regarding a male subject pointing a firearm at citizens and/or police officers on May 30th, 2020.  The subject allegedly involved in this incident was photographed and videos of the incident were posted online.

Antonio Wooden

Thanks to tips from the community and investigative work by detectives, the suspect was identified as Antonio Wooden of Indianapolis.  On June 2nd, 2020, IMPD detectives safely apprehended Wooden without incident.

Working with other state and federal law enforcement partners, investigators determined Wooden was on active probation and also had an active arrest warrant in Ohio from unrelated criminal cases. 
As such, Wooden is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.  Wooden was interviewed and arrested pending federal firearms charges.

A search warrant was also served at Wooden’s residence, and the rifle involved in this incident was recovered as evidence.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
