Visit Hendricks County Seeking 2017 Events for its Website, Visitors Guide

DANVILLE, IN (November 30, 2016) –If you have an event planned for 2017 in Hendricks County, there truly is no better way to publicize and promote it than by submitting it to Visit Hendricks County.

Visit Hendricks County currently is accepting event calendar submissions for 2017 free of charge with a bonus that events received by Dec. 12 will be considered for inclusion in the printed 2017 Visitors Guide. The Visitors Guide, which is updated and printed annually and contains information about the county’s attractions, provides substantial exposure as about 27,000 have been distributed this year to visitors by request or at attractions, hotels, events, rest areas and various other locations.

Even if your event isn’t chosen for the Visitors Guide, its exposure will be significant as Visit Hendricks County’s website, VisitHendricksCounty.com, was viewed by nearly 200,000 visitors in 2016 with the Events Calendar as one of its most visited pages.

In addition to having your event promoted online and possibly in the Visitors Guide, Visit Hendricks County staff use the calendar to help compile blog posts, submit story ideas to local media, promote in various campaigns throughout the year and compile things-to-do lists for visitors. Once again, these added benefits are all free of charge.

Submitting an events listing is easier than ever. Go online to VisitHendricksCounty.com, hover over the Events tab and choose “Submit Your Event.” Users will then be taken to a screen with detailed instructions on how to use an interactive form.

The form will ask basic questions to keep the Events Calendar listings consistent, such as the event’s name, location, time, date, contact name and phone number, website link and a brief description. If you don’t have access to a computer or have any questions or concerns, call Meghan Hazelgrove at (317) 718-8750.

Events must take place in Hendricks County or at a location on the Rural Routes to Main Street Cultural Trail to be considered for the calendar and Visitors Guide. Events can be submitted anytime throughout the year, though Visit Hendricks County recommends determining the date and other details months in advance and submitting the event as soon as possible. Any events submitted after Dec. 12, 2016, will not be included in the 2017 printed Visitors Guide.
