Rokita Statement On Illegal Immigrant Who Is Suspected Of Killing Two Hoosiers, Including Colts Player

DANVILLE, IN — Today, Congressman Todd Rokita released the following statement after the news that an illegal immigrant suspected of drunk driving killed two Hoosiers on Sunday, including Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson:

“The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry,” said Congressman Todd Rokita. “We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all.”

CBS-4 Indy reported that the suspected drunk driver Manuel Orrego-Savala, who has been deported on two separate occasions, is suspected of killing two people – Jeffrey Monroe and Colts player Edwin Jackson.

Congressman Rokita has been a committed ally of President Trump and his administration to end illegal immigration, build a wall, and stop sanctuary cities.

In December, Congressman Todd Rokita introduced the SLAP ACT (Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians) which would establish the toughest penalties yet for sanctuary city politicians who ignore federal immigration enforcement. Congressman Rokita has been a strong supporter of Kate’s Law that would defund sanctuary cities.
