Morgan County Roadside Commercial Vehicle Inspection Results in One Arrest

user29410-1454973441-media1Morgan County—This afternoon at 12:04, Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne stopped a 2007 Volvo tractor pulling a box trailer eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 51 mile marker for a routine commercial vehicle inspection.

During conversation with the driver, Trooper Dravigne noticed possible indicators of criminal activity. A consensual search of the tractor revealed (10) fraudulent credit cards with stolen credit card numbers concealed in a DVD case.user29410-1454973445-media2

Arrested:        Ashot Shaumyan, age 57, of Van Nuys, California

Held in Morgan County Jail

Charges:        Credit Card Fraud (felony)

Forgery (felony)

The tractor-trailer was operated under Vaga Express of Duarte, California. Shaumyan was transporting fresh produce from Yuma, Arizona to Bronx, New York.

 

Assisting were ISP Trooper Jim Wells and the US Secret Service.
