IMPD is investigating Indianapolis West Side shooting that has killed a 31-year-old man

INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) are investigating a shooting that has killed a 31-year-old man on the city’s West Side of town.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers with IMPD were dispatched to the 4400 block of Robertson Boulevard (Blvd) on reports a person was shot in the leg.  Before officers arrived, dispatchers informed them that the victim and another person (sister) had left the Robertson location headed to the hospital.  Minutes later an adult victim showed-up at Community Westview Hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the leg.  Despite efforts by medical personnel at Community Westview Hospital, the victim, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Detectives have established a crime scene at the Robertson Blvd. location and have requested the service of the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency to process the scene.  Detectives have not yet released any reliable suspect information.  The victim’s name will be released once notification of next-of-kin can be verified.  Investigators urge anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).  All information shared via Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is considered anonymous.
