Homicide detectives requesting the communities assistance in Wednesday morning homicide

INDIANAPOLIS –Just after 8:00 a.m., on January 10, 2018, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were called to the 2900 block of N. Delaware Street reference a disturbance.  When officers arrived they located an adult male who was lying in the street who appeared to be shot.  Officers called for the assistance of the Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) who arrived and transported the male to Methodist Hospital.  Despite the best life-saving efforts by emergency medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries a short time after arriving at the hospital. Homicide detectives were called to the scene.

The Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.  The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the victim can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.

Monica Hampton

Homicide detectives are actively searching for 33 year-old Monica Hampton.  She is wanted for questioning only in this fatal shooting.  Detectives are also attempting to locate the grey 2008 Nissan Altima.  The detectives are asking for the communities help in locating Hampton and the vehicle.
