Brownsburg Education Foundation Celebrates Annual Gala

The Brownsburg Education Foundation (BEF) is excited to hold the sixth annual gala, Rally for Our Kids, on March 10, 2017 presented by Bill Estes Automotive.  This event brings patrons together to honor, celebrate, and support the importance of education in our community with fun and festivities demonstrating we will Rally for Our Kids when it comes to providing excellent and innovative educational experiences.


Attendees will be celebrating with silent and live auctions, a dessert dash, and a diamond and champagne raffle as well as cocktails and dinner. Nelson Jewelers is the exclusive diamond sponsor of the gala, Captured Memories Photography is the official photographer, Falcone Volkswagen Subaru & Saab is the valet sponsor and The Hendricks County ICON is the gala media sponsor.  Doors open for cocktail hour and auction browsing at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. The gala will be held at The Country Club of Indianapolis.  BEF is proud to once again have Bill Estes Automotive as the Presenting Sponsor and Adelsperger Orthodontics, Falcone Volkswagen Subaru, & Saab, Hendricks Regional Health, LeBlanc Nettles Davis, Lids Inc., Meyer-Najem Construction, State Bank of Lizton, and Stutler Dental Care as Salutatorian Sponsors.


Last year’s gala raised over $75,000 to benefit the students of the Brownsburg Community School Corporation through the Foundation’s educational grants and student scholarships.  This year’s gala promises to be even better with new activities that everyone will enjoy.  Some of this year’s live auction packages include Disney Hopper passes and airline tickets, an entire Pacers suite for one game, a fall dinner and hayride package at Dr. Snapp’s restored barn and much more!

Indianapolis Airport sells nearly 2,000 acres to Plainfield

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 15, 2017) – Today the Indianapolis Airport Authority Board authorized the sale of nearly 2,000 acres of conservation land to the Town of Plainfield, furthering the commitment  the IAA made in 2015 to restore non-aviation land to local communities  and local tax rolls. “IAA staff and our community partners have worked diligently to ensure this tract of land is given a continuing and   enanced purpose – and I thank all involved for their smart work and conscientious judgement in bringing this  transaction to fruition,” said Barbara Glass, IAA board president. The Town of Plainfield will pay nearly $1.6 million for the land, which includes protected wetland areas, and critical  habitats for the endangered Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) and many other animal and plant species. The land also   includes Sodalis Nature Park, which features trails, picnic areas and a 5.5-acre pond for public use.
